The novel employs the satire of the philosophy of physical beauty, and uses a very sophisticated language. Pecola the protagonist is by far one of the most sympathetic characters that I have come across in my venture through literature; she endures racism, sexism, and even rape! The surprises, twists and turns this book utilizes make it an up-all-night journey. The famous criminalogist takes 4 real life murder cases that he has worked on and explains how they were able to catch the murderer by using the science in crime. In one cases they helped convict the murderer without finding a complete body, in the O.J. Simpson cases they proved his innocence by the analysis of blood evidence found at the scene. In this novel a two star general is found dead in a sleazy motel of a heart attack, and as Jack cleans up the mess other people begin to die.
